Top 10 Best CSGO Players

Who is the best Counter-Strike Global Offensive player of all time?

It’s a question that has been asked and debated for over two decades, with no clear answer. The game has had many great players come and go, but who truly stands out as the best?

We wanted to find out for ourselves, so we analyzed every player who has ever won a major tournament in CSGO history. We looked at their career win-loss records, personal statistics, and other factors to determine which player had the biggest impact on their teams.

Oleksandr Kostyliev (s1mple)

Teams: Liquid, Natus Vincere

Earnings: $1.7 Million

Oleksandr Olehovych Kostyliev known as s1mple, is a Ukrainian professional Counter-Strike: Global Offensive player for Natus Vincere. He is considered to be one of the best players in Global Offensive history. He has been an active competitor since way back in 2013 when he was just 15 years old. Since then, he has been playing at a tournament level and winning numerous championships with teams like Astralis and Team Liquid.

S1mple has one major title under his belt as well as being a 19-time MVP. He’s regarded as one of the best (if not the best) CSGO players in the world and is often considered to be one of their most consistent AWPers since their introduction into competitive play.

Anyone who follows CS: GO will say that s1mple is one of the best players in the world, if not THE best.

Finn Andersen (karrigan)

Team: mousesports, Fnatic, Copenhagen Wolves, Dignitas, TSM, Astralis, FaZe Clan, Team Envy

Earnings: $1.4 Million

Finn Andersen—better known as karrigan—is a Danish professional Counter-Strike: Global Offensive player, who is currently the captain of FaZe Clan. He was a founding member of Astralis, a player-owned team established in 2015. He began playing competitively in 2006 during the Counter-Strike 1.6 era.

Karrigan is far from being an overnight success, as his journey to becoming one of the top 10 CSGO players of all time began way back in 2005. He won more than 45 chips and had accumulated a staggering amount of prize money just from CSGO tournaments alone. He also secured the record for being the oldest player in history to win a CSGO Major, which he did twice! The Danish veteran has played for some of the most prestigious teams in Counter-Strike: mousesports, Fnatic, Copenhagen Wolves, Dignitas, and TSM before joining Astralis where he won two more majors.

In 2019 alone Karrigan has already earned $180k through online tournaments on Twitch/YouTube streams with FaZe Clan and Team Envy making him one of the highest earners within esports overall (this includes streaming revenue).

Robin Kool (ropz)

Teams: mousesports, FaZe Clan

Earnings: $900k

Robin Kool, better known as ropz, is a professional Estonian Counter-Strike: Global Offensive player for FaZe Clan. He has played in six Majors and won the PGL Major Antwerp 2022.

Ropz is one of the youngest and least experienced players to make this list. But he has an uncanny ability for lurking, with remarkable map knowledge that can be seen when he’s playing for FaZe Clan. His style as a player is very restrained—he doesn’t overcommit or go for kills unless it’s absolutely necessary. On HLTV rankings, Ropz has broken into the top twenty-three years in a row, climbing up the table with each successive year. He now plays for mousesports as their main AWPer and entry fragger while also serving as a lurker on the T side when needed.

Valerii Vakhovskyi (b1t)

Teams: Natus Vincere

Earnings: $1 Million

Vakhovskyi rose to fame in 2021, when he was named one of the best CSGO players in the world. At such a young age, he became one of only three players in history who had won eight majors within a span of twelve months.

Vakhovskyi is set to become one of the richest CSGO players after securing over $1 million worth in winnings across his career so far. He received the title of the Esports PC Rookie of the Year from the Esports Awards.

Denis Sharipov (electroNic)

Teams: Natus Vincere

Earnings: $1.5 Million

Denis ‘electronic’ Sharipov is a Russian Counter-Strike: Global Offensive player for Natus Vincere. He is one of the most well-known CSGO players in the world. A member of Natus Vincere (Na’Vi) since 2011, electroNic has become a legend within his field, fighting alongside his teammates to become one of the most legendary dynasties in the history of esports.

Within one year, electroNic won more games than most players will in their entire careers. He ranked highly in HLTV’s Top 20 Players of the Year lists for four years running now and it’s not hard to see why. ElectroNic is an incredibly talented player who works hard at his craft, making him an inspiration for anyone looking to make it big in esports today.

Mathieu Herbaut (ZywOo)

Teams: Vitality

Earnings: $520k

ZZywOo is a French CSGO player who has been competing in the esports scene since 2016, making him one of the youngest competitors on this list. He’s currently 22 years old, and he’s a powerhouse of the CSGO scene.

ZywOo first started out his career on Vitality in 2017, where he placed second at DreamHack Open Tours 2018 and finished in fifth place at ESL One Cologne 2018. In 2019, ZywOo joined Team Envy following Vitality’s disbandment but rejoined Vitality shortly after due to internal issues within Envy’s roster.

Peter Rasmussen (Dupreech)

Teams: Astralis, TSM, Dignitas, Vitality

Earnings: $2m

Peter Rasmussen is one of the greatest CSGO players in history.

The Danish prodigy has been competing since 2012, and by 2022 he was one of just three players to attend all Majors throughout the history of the CSGO esports scene.

Rasmussen began his career on Astralis, where he won two Major titles and earned $2m in total prize money. He then moved to TSM before joining Dignitas and then Vitality as a veteran leader who helped guide them through several roster changes over five years.

Christopher Alesund (GeT_Right)

Teams: Ninjas in Pyjamas, Dignitas

Earnings: $600k

Christopher “GeT_RiGhT” Alesund is a retired Swedish professional Counter-Strike: Global Offensive player and streamer. He has been playing CSGO since the very beginning, and his career spanned an incredible fourteen years. As one of the best in the world, he was able to compete at almost every tournament that took place during those fourteen years. Between 2010 and 2016, Alesund was consistently ranked in the top 20 players in the world.

Alesund is widely regarded as one of if not THE best CSGO players of all time, but modern-day competitors are definitely beating him out of that title. He earned one world title, and twenty international titles, and reached the finals or top eight spots in more than one hundred and twenty competitions.

Marcelo David (coldzera)

Teams: Dexterity, Luminosity, SK Gaming, FaZe Clan, Complexity

Earnings: $1 Million

Marcelo “coldzera” David is a Brazilian Counter-Strike: Global Offensive player who is widely considered one of the best CS: GO players of all time.

He is an award-winning, player-dominating, money-making CSGO world champion. He has won 2 Majors and has been an eight-time MVP. He’s played for teams like SK Gaming and Complexity previously but now he plays for FaZe Clan along with other world-class players such as Niko, Rain, GuardiaN, Xist, and Doplanckx.

Nicolai Reedtz (dev1ce)

Teams: Astralis, Ninjas in Pyjamas

Earnings: $1.9 Million

Nicolai “dev1ce” Reedtz is a Danish professional Counter-Strike: Global Offensive player who currently plays for Astralis. He is known as one of the best players of all time, consistently playing at a very high individual level since 2014. He is a remarkable player with an unparalleled record in CSGO. His skill as an AWPer is unmatched, and he stands out as one of the biggest earners in CSGO history.

In 2022, CSGO player dev1ce stepped down from competition and took a mental health break. By September of that year, there was still no word about his return. Despite this lack of information, dev1ce remains one of the best CSGO players of all time and has been awarded multiple MVP awards as well as top spots at some of the biggest tournaments in the space.
