Computer came well packed and supported both in the box to prevent major shocks to it as well as internally to ensure heavy components didn't flex or shake during shipping.
The PC itself is quality. There was no extra bloatware installed on it, specs were as advertised, and the parts used at least in mine were pretty similar to the ones I'd have picked out myself manufacturer wise. All names any pc builder would recognize and not the super cheap end parts.
The ONLY issue I've had with it, and it isn't worth taking off a star or sending the computer back, was one of the front fans is noticably slower than the other 2 and doesn't like to start spinning on cold boot, but a simple nudge is all it takes to get it spinning. Honestly an easy swap out for me so if that's the only issue in a PC that traveled from Cali yo the east coast, I can't complain.
Performance and thermals are solid, the bios was properly setup, no having to go in and enable xmp to get your proper ram speeds.
There are a few things I'd like to have seen done differently just from the standpoint of a PC builder.
1) using a micro ATX motherboard saves money, but I'd like to have seen a full sized board in it for the sake of spacing.
2) case fans are not addressable RGB, you simply push a button to cycle thru patterns and colors.
3) case fans are not run thru chassis fan pins on the board so the speeds cannot be monitored or controlled.
None of these detract from the quality of the build, they're just things I'd like to have seen from a higher end prebuilt like this.
Word of warning: If adding anything you need to connect cables to, the cables are all tucked in super tight in a space on the backside of the tower. It was tough getting them out and tucking back away but not impossible. An additional hard drive is a must add-on. I also bought an external USB DVD/CD ROM for installing some other stuff I have as this PC does not have a disc drive.
I plan to add more RAM in the future but for now it has handled everything I've thrown at it. Well worth it!
I had some issues around the one-year mark but did not think it was necessarily a hardware issue. After reimaging my PC it seemed to fix my problems. However, after about another 5-6 months later I was having some intermittent issues and then complete failure of my graphics card.
I called Skytech support they confirmed my issue being faulty graphics card, but they said my warranty was no longer valid because it was past one year. The associate stated to be eligible for a further warranty on my graphics card, I needed to follow the registration that was only available as a shortcut that was already installed on the PC.
Being a computer person, I had little concern with any programs that Skytech or anyone installed on the PC so I paid it no attention. The only time I heard anything about this registration was from the Skytech associate who I spoke with when my graphics card failed. There was nothing in the Skytech packaging when receiving my computer initially that stated this is required for a graphics card to have a warranty beyond 1 year.
So, here I am stuck with a ~$600 card that failed after 18 months that Skytech won't back up, even with a proof of purchase, and them knowing the average graphics card should last at least 5 years. This all because of their obscure warranty process. At this point it could be bad luck or them deceptively using refurbished products and selling them as new. This is the first time I have ever had a graphics card failure and I have built multiple PCs that have lasted at least 5 years.
Overall I am pleased with its performance, the thing runs fairly cool and the cable management is solid.
Perhaps the only thing I dislike here is the case has this a push to tap release system on the front mesh, which, easier to clean, makes me nervous when moving as pressure will trigger its release sometimes. Additionally, the top and bottom meshes are thin magnetic affairs that can slide off while being handled.
None of these are deal breakers, just stuff to be aware of when getting this model.
I'd give it a 4.7/5 score, It was a good value buy at the time of purchase, GPU prices are insane thanks to crypto mining.
I do recommend picking up another 16 gigs of DDR4 ram though just to help future proof yourself.
