There are hundreds of ships to explore and pilot in Star Trek Online. Each have their own purpose and function. It can be hard to make up your mind about what kind of starship captain you are, but our list below should help you determine what Star Trek Online’s best ships are.
NX Class Escort Refit
This is a smaller vessel, but don’t let its size fool you. When the Refit hits maximum level, its hull strength is well beyond what you would imagine for a ship of its size. Not only that, but it has an incredible turn rate. Its defensive capabilities along with its incredible Point Defense Bombardment Warhead console make this a great ship for fast excursions and quick escapes.
Kelvin Timeline Intel Dreadnought
Based on the secretly built ship from the second reboot movie, this Federation Dreadnought might be the most powerful starship in the entire game. It has unique weapons not available on any other ship, and they are unbelievably devastating. Additionally, it has the potential of reaching a massive 70k HP without the addition of add-ons and upgrades. If you want to wage a one ship war, this is the vessel to do it in.
Sarcophagus Dreadnought Carrier
It’s one of the rarer ships in the game to acquire, but with good cause. Its massive HP potential, the Cloak of T’Kuvma, support for House of Mo’Kai Raiders, and two hanger bays makes this Klingon ship a powerhouse. The Sarcophagus Carrier is only available through the Discovery Lock Box, or if you get lucky and find one on the Exchange.
Odyssey Science Cruiser
Most of the vessels on this list are designed to wage war, but the Odyssey Science Cruiser was built for a different purpose. Fans of Star Trek will recognize this ship as a Sovereign class vessel, the same type as the Enterprise E. That will give you an idea of what it’s capable of. If you find yourself exploring highly contested regions of space, the Odyssey Science Cruiser is ideal. Because while this ship is focused on exploration, it can still hold its own in battle.
D’Khellra Warbird Battlecruiser
Though these ships turn like an aircraft carrier stuck in ice, the Warbird Battlecruiser more than makes up for it with the ability to convert damage done to enemies into increased resistance for your own vessel. It accomplishes this incredible feat because of the ship’s onboard Molecular Cohesion Nullifier Field. You can purchase the D’Kellra Warbird Battlecruiser in the Zen store for 3,000 Zen. It is definitely a good investment.
Any one of the five vessels from this list could easily claim the title of being one of Star Trek Online’s best ships. Whether you grind your way to owning one, or spend real world cash, these are starships worth your investment. Make sure to check out our other guides about Star Trek Online as well!
